Social Media Campaign Resources

Facebook, Twitter, and Alphabet are violating civil and human rights by enabling discrimination and hate-fueled activity on their platforms and in their workplaces. Open MIC is organizing with investors to hold these companies accountable—at the highest level of the companies—through shareholder proposals urging the companies to establish civil rights expertise at the Board level. This is the first step to remodel the company’s approach to civil and human rights governance.

Following the leadership of civil rights and media justice groups who have pushed Facebook to conduct a civil rights audit, shareholders are also urging Facebook to conduct a report evaluating the Board’s oversight of civil rights risks, including ”the presence of board level infrastructure ensuring ongoing consultation with leading civil and human rights experts.”

Open MIC is asking for your support in amplifying these efforts on social media. Please share the following messages through your social media accounts.
